Why choose a seamstress to dress you?

Wedding dresses are often more complicated to put on than they first appear. Hidden fastenings, corset backs, delicate buttons, fitted sleeves, underskirts and long trains can all take time to arrange properly. As an experienced bridal seamstress, I understand how wedding dresses are constructed and how each part should sit on the body. I can spot when a zip is under strain, a corset has been laced unevenly, an underskirt has twisted or the bodice is not sitting in the correct position. I also know how to handle delicate fabrics, lace, beading and structured gowns without causing unnecessary pulling or damage. Having a seamstress there means your family and bridal party do not have to work out complicated fastenings while everyone is watching the clock. They can enjoy getting ready with you while I take care of the dress and make sure you feel comfortable, secure and ready for the ceremony.

How the Wedding Morning Works

IMG_2360.jpeg

Before your wedding day, we will discuss your venue, ceremony time, bridal party and everything you would like help with. This allows us to plan when to arrive and how much time will be needed.

On the morning of your wedding, we will arrive at the agreed time and begin preparing the dresses. Your wedding gown will be carefully steamed where required, and the bridal party outfits can also be checked and prepared.

When it is time to get dressed, we will help you into your gown, take care of the fastenings and make sure the bodice, straps, sleeves and underskirt are sitting correctly. Your veil and accessories will then be positioned, followed by final checks of your train and overall appearance.

We stay until you are fully dressed and ready to leave for your ceremony, allowing your family and bridal party to enjoy the morning with you.
