A beautiful outfit can still feel wrong if the fit isn’t quite right. Sometimes a small adjustment is all it takes; sometimes the garment needs a little more work. At your fitting, we’ll look at how your outfit sits on you, talk through what can realistically be altered and recommend what we think is worth doing.
Good alterations shouldn’t change the outfit you fell in love with — they should make it fit you.
Wedding Guest & Formalwear Alterations
Because it’s not only the bridal party who wants to look good.
If you’ve found the right outfit for a wedding, awards night, dinner, party, cruise, race day or another special event but something about the fit isn’t quite right, bring it in.
We regularly work with fitted dresses, jumpsuits, evening gowns, cocktail dresses and other occasionwear.
Whether it’s a hem that’s too long, a bodice that doesn’t sit properly or a dress that simply needs shaped to you, we’ll tell you what can be done — and equally importantly, if we think something is best left alone.

Not Sure What Needs Altering?
That’s what the fitting is for.
You don’t need to know whether your dress needs lifted at the shoulder, reshaped through the bodice or taken in somewhere else. That’s our job. Put the outfit on and we’ll look at how it sits, pin where necessary and talk you through what we recommend. We’ll agree the alterations with you before the work begins, so you know exactly what we’re doing and why.
What Should I Bring to My Fitting?
Bring the things that can change how your outfit fits.
Please bring:
Your shoes, especially if the garment needs shortened.
Your underwear or shapewear, the right bra or shapewear can completely change how a fitted dress sits. Any accessories that affect the fit — particularly belts, underskirts or specialist foundation garments.
If you haven’t decided on something yet, that’s fine. Just tell us at your fitting.
When Should I Book?
Around 8 weeks before your event is ideal.
Special occasion dresses can be more complicated than everyday clothing. Multiple layers, linings, boning, lace, beading and unusual construction can all affect the amount of work involved.
Booking early gives us enough time to complete the alterations properly and arrange another fitting if one is needed.
